On 31 January 2014, new regulations came into force — the Collective Redundancies and Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) (Amendment) Regulations 2014) — that amend existing TUPE and collective redundancy legislation.

Key dates: 31 January 2014 — the new regulations came into force, and apart from where indicated below the amendments apply to TUPE transfers that take place on or after 31 January 2014; 1 May 2014 — the deadline for notification of employee liability information will increase from 14 to 28 days in relation to TUPE transfers on or after 1 May; 31 July 2014 — the information and consultation exception for micro businesses applies in relation to TUPE transfers on or after this date…
