Alan Steinfeld QC and Martin Mann QC are the new heads of chambers at commercial chancery set 24 Old Buildings following the sudden death of their predecessor.
Tim Brodie QC died suddenly last month of a heart attack after a game of polo. Brodie, an old Etonian, was 70.
Mann says: "Alan and I are saddened about his death. He was highly respected and a great figurehead for the chambers. It is a terrible loss.
"Tim died after playing polo. He was very keen on the game, and that shows just what a young 70-year-old he was."
Brodie was head of chambers for about 18 years.
The chambers voted for joint heads at the end of last month. Mann says it is not unusual for a chambers to have two heads and there was a democratic vote. He says: "The fact we are a democratic set means there are no constitutional upsets because we consult our members."
He adds that one of the first changes the new heads will implement is a written constitution, although he says Brodie had planned to do the same.
