Two separate surveys of law firms have concluded that lawyers do not care about their benefit packages
A survey of 220 UK firms by PIFC Benefit Consultants found that only 46 per cent believed staff recognised their benefit packages' value.
Law firms are spending millions on these benefits but not communicating the value of them to their employees.
This was backed up by a survey of nearly 5,000 jobseekers in the legal sector by reed.co.uk and the Depart-ment of Trade and Industry (DTI), which found that more than half of respondents would choose flexible working hours as the most desirable benefit in their next job.
The DTI is trying to raise awareness of new family-orientated employment laws, which go live in April. Two-thirds of respondents stated that a good work-life balance would be a clinching factor when deciding on a new job.
