Two Milbank lawyers quit for Orrick a year after joining
Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe has hired two of the group of five finance partners who joined Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy from Latham & Watkins only a year ago.

Ronan Wicks and Patrick Flanagan joined Milbank last August as part of a five-partner Latham team led by Marc Hanrahan.
The other partners in the group, Milbank’s single biggest lateral hire ever, are British lawyer Marcus Dougherty and Lauren Hanrahan.
At the time of their hire Milbank chairman Mel Immergut said: “These attorneys bring an exceptional level of experience to Milbank. Our expectation is that they’ll have an enormously positive impact on our traditionally strong banking and leveraged finance practice and enhance many other practice areas of the firm including financial restructuring, litigation, securities and corporate.”
The former Milbank partners are two of five New York partner hires Orrick has announced today. The three other partners are Shearman & Sterling partner Bruce Czachor, Julian Chung from Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft and Jason White, the head of the leveraged and high-grade finance and credit restructuring practices in the Americas at Barclays Capital.
In a statement Orrick’s chairman and CEO Ralph Baxter said: “This move adds another strong dimension to our representation of major investment banks and financial institutions, both in New York and globally.”
