Taylor Wessing has named Alcatel-Lucent corporate counsel Patrick Clark as its new head of telecoms, replacing Ted Mercer who joined Edwin Coe earlier this year.
Clark is rejoining the City firm following a five-year hiatus at the French telecoms giant.
He trained at the firm before moving up to senior associate over the course of a 10-year career.
Clark, who will become the only partner in the Taylor Wessing telecoms team when he joins on 23 June, said the firm made “an offer I couldn’t refuse”.
He continued: “Taylor Wessing is a great platform for a technology practice. Moving back to a firm where I know a lot of the partners and clients is an excellent way to not only do something new but also leverage the past.”
Clark will sit in the firm’s broader technology group, which is headed by partner Glyn Morgan.
