Turnover up 59 per cent at Watson Burton

Watson Burton has seen its half-year turnover rocket by 59 per cent.

As first reported on www.thelawyer.com (28 November), the North East firm, currently in the higher reaches of The Lawyer Rising 50, posted a six month-figure of £10.8m, up from £6.8m for the same period last year.

If the firm's fee income continues to grow at this rate for the remainder of the year, it will enjoy a final turnover of more than £25m - giving it a place in The Lawyer UK 100 Annual Report for the first time.

Watson Burton senior partner Andrew Hoyle said: "Our results reinforce the fact that Watson Burton's combination of national quality services and regional pricing structure is one for which the market has a real appetite."

In the last year the firm opened an office in Leeds and recruited seven partners - David Bowden, Philip Jordan, Nick Kippax, Tristan Meears-White, Sharon Needle, Andrew Walker and Mark Warburton.
