Turcan Connell hires family law duo from Maclay Murray & Spens
Scottish private client firm Turcan Connell has hired a senior family law team from Maclay Murray & Spens to join its Glasgow office, which opened just over two months ago.
Noel Ferry, head of family at Maclays, has joined Turcan Connell’s Glasgow office as a senior associate alongside senior solicitor Roger Mackenzie.
Ferry specialises in high-net-worth divorces, prenuptial agreements and child relocation cases, while Mackenzie has considerable experience of handling high-profile financial and child law cases in both the sheriff courts and the Court of Session.
The hires will boost Turcan Connell’s family law offering and come just two months after the firm opened an office in Glasgow to bolster its wealth management services, family law, trust, tax and charity giving advice (20 April 2012).
In April joint senior partner Douglas Connell told The Lawyer that recruitment for the new office would be “gradual” and added that although the new base has capacity for 20 fee-earners, the firm had no immediate plans to make major lateral hires in the Glasgow area in the short term.
Both lawyers are expected to join the firm in January.

Turcan Connell has around 300 staff, with 80-90 lawyers working alongside a large number of other professionals, including tax advisers, financial advisers and wealth management specialists across its offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow, London and Guernsey.
