Trowers & Hamlins has ramped up its commercial property team with the hire of Sue Hearn from the London office of Eversheds.
Trowers' property team is on a recruitment drive, with another, so far unnamed, partner due to join the London office in January 2004.
Partner Shona Price told The Lawyer: "Property is a core business here and we're very committed to it."
Trowers' property team, including Hearn, now has eight partners.
Hearn, a fixed-share equity partner at her former firm, joined Trowers on 6 October. She joins as a "participating" partner, or fixed-share equivalent.
Hearn described her client base, which includes banks, retailers and landlords, as "eclectic", adding she was attracted to Trowers' "collegiate" culture and smaller size.
Eversheds managing partner David Gray said it was the firm's policy not to comment on partner departures.
