Trowers goes South for private client head

Trowers & Hamlins has targeted South East firm Kidd Rapinet’s private client department to acquire the head of the practice.

David Semmens joins Trowers as a partner in the firm’s developing private client department, under the direction of head of the group Luke Valner. His appointment brings the private client team to 11 lawyers.

Although better known for property and corporate work, Trowers aims to bolster its private client practice, which focuses on high-net worth clients who have built up their wealth through industry and commerce.

Semmens, who had been at Kidd Rapinet since 2001, specialises in inheritance tax planning, the drafting of wills, the administration of estates and the formation of trusts.
