Trio of Paul Hastings partners return to Hunton & Williams

Jeff Schroeder, Larry Skinner and Ellis Butler all trained at Hunton & Williams, where they became partners, but left to join Paul Hastings in 2003.

On returning to their former firm they will be joined in the global energy project finance team by two other Paul Hastings partners - John Hawkins and Raj Pande.

Hawkins and Schroeder have been appointed as co-heads of the team, while Pande will serve as chair of the firm’s Japan practice.

Hawkins and Pande will join Hunton & Williams’ New York office. Butler, Schroeder and Skinner will be based in Washington DC.

Hawkins said the team had chosen Hunton & Williams because of its long-term energy and finance expertise, and its ability to meet clients’ needs in the US and overseas.

Their recent project finance experience includes InterGen’s $3.4bn refinancing, and Tokyo Electric Power’s $3.7bn acquisition of Mirant’s power generation business in the Philippines.

London-based energy and project finance partner Matthew Williams said: “The addition of these new partners will make a real difference to our business in the UK and internationally.
