US firm Dechert has made up 12 lawyers to its partnership, including three in its London office.
The promotions round is significantly bigger than that of 2012, when seven lawyers were made up and none in the City.
New partners for 2013 including London-based financial services lawyers Abigail Bell and Christopher Gardner as well as litigator Timothy Lindsay.
The firm also promoted arbitration specialist José-Manuel García Represa in Paris and Dubai-based corporate lawyer John Eric Podgore in addition to seven US promotions.
Dechert has expanded its London office significantly over the past two years, with the most recent hires including partners Camille Abousleiman and Louise Roman Bernstein from defunct firm Dewey & LeBoeuf (16 April 2012) and Norton Rose litigator Antony Dutton (5 January 2012).
Former London head Steven Fogel, who retired last summer, was yesterday confirmed as a member of SJ Berwin’s executive board (3 January 2013).
