Travers Smith managing partner Andrew Lilley extends his term

Travers Smith managing partner Andrew Lilley has been appointed to the role for a further two years, with the City firm chief set to return to fee-earning at the end of 2014.
Lilley’s re-appointment following his first three-year term was confirmed at the end of August after a sounding of partners’ views by senior partner Chris Carroll, who himself is set to stand down next year.
Lilley said he intends to serve another two years rather than remaining in the post for the standard three-year period in order to return to fee-earning as an employment lawyer.
The second term commences on 1 January next year, with his successor taking over at the start of 2015.
In the past year Lilley has overseen the introduction of a sector-based approached, which has now been implemented, covering financial services, leisure, healthcare, retail and infrastructure.
This year the firm announced a 24 per cent increase in average profit per equity partner for the 2011-12 financial year (16 July 2012).
