Travers picks senior partner replacement

Travers Smith has elected former managing partner Alasdair Douglas as its new senior partner, replacing the retiring Christopher Bell. Douglas takes up his new role on 1 July and will also continue fee-earning in the tax department. He was previously managing partner between 1995 and 2001, before being replaced by Chris Carroll. Bell has been senior partner at Travers since 2000, having formerly headed the firm’s corporate team. He first joined Travers in 1971 and became a partner in 1975.
