  • Allen Overy never even gave law graduates the chance to apply as far as I know.

  • A&O have always recruited heavily from their summer schemes, which are typically 90-95% law students. It is therefore difficult to say, given the relatively small number of law students they take without a vac scheme with the firm, that law graduates were not given the chance.

  • Bap - you seem to be somewhat misguided. Last time I checked, A&O took the standard 50-50 law-nonlaw split.

  • JS you moron, read the comment, noone was querying the issue of non-law v law, it was the issue of graduated as opposed to students!

  • As far as I am aware Hammonds suggestion that its deferred trainnes opted for this course of action is a nonsense and its suggestion of receiving 11k is also not correct. The placement scheme is good but not an option, more of a requirement. I am sure those trainess affected would rather have started their contracts on time. It makes you wonder if the reporting is accurate or whether the information given is not quite true.
