This year, The Lawyer’s annual ranking of the largest UK law firms by turnover is available as an interactive, digital benchmarking tool. For the first time this will allow you to manipulate each data set against the metrics of your choice.
You can take the man out of the firm, but you can’t take the firm out of the man. Take Shearman & Sterling’s Kenneth MacRitchie, for example. The Scottish delight was no doubt looking forward to being a guest at The Lawyer Awards, which as you all know is the premier event in the global legal calendar. Imagine his joy when he turned up to find not one, but four, of his old partners from days gone by. They included Clifford Chance’s Adam Signy and Weil Gotshal & Manges’ Mike Francies (also an ex-CC man). Being a former CC partner, it was a blast from the past for Ken. But wait, there’s more.
Also on the table was Cadwalader’s Stephen Mostyn-Williams (an ex-Shearmans chap) and finally Kevin Muzilla of Milbank Tweed, where Ken also used to practise. No doubt there were chuckles all round as the guys reminisced about the good old days.
