Veale Wasbrough has lured a top property investment lawyer from Burges Salmon.
Stuart King, formerly head of Burges Salmon's property finance unit, will join the property services team, which the firm says has handled transactions worth more than £1bn over the past 12 months.
He says his move is in part due to the different cost efficiencies of the two firms.
"Burges Salmon was quite expensive in terms of the investment market, whereas Veale Wasbrough is able to attract clients through efficiency and cost-effectiveness."
Veale Wasbrough's head of property services Gary Philpott says: "The increase in commercial property work reflects the continued growth of business in the Bristol area. Mid-range enterprises are growing and moving within and from outside the region. In particular high-tech businesses whose demands are quite distinct from the traditional manufacturing industries are seeking business accommodation."
King is set to bring several clients with him to Veale Wasbrough including investment company Newport Holdings.
