Bravo to Essex Court Chambers for ditching its nasty orange website in favour of a clean, stylish new look. The new site includes a nifty little feature giving the time in London, New York, Paris and Sydney – or at least it would be nifty if it worked.

At 11.30am (in London) the clock was informing Tulkinghorn that it was 8.53pm in London, 8.45pm in New York, 9.53pm in Paris and 5.53am in Sydney. The time warp continued on the members’ page, where potential clients are informed that Huw Davies QC was appointed silk in 1006, nearly 600 years before the title was invented.
