Three go head-to-head for Lovells top job

The Lawyer understands that head of corporate Hugh Nineham and competition partner Simon Polito have both put themselves forward. The winner will take up the post in May next year.
Walker has been senior partner at Lovells since 1994. “I'm sure Andrew was surprised he was opposed,” said a source close to the firm.
The post of managing partner, currently held by Lesley Macdonagh, is also up for grabs. However, as The Lawyer went to press, there were no challengers for her job. Corporate partner Marco Compagnoni, tipped as a future leader of the firm, is not standing for election.
The election comes at a crucial time for the firm, which has staked much of its credibility building up an international network in order to keep pace with the magic circle.
