Thompsons nets £25.5m from miners' claims

The Government has paid £118m in the last four and a half years to law firms handling compensation claims for miners with respiratory disease and vibration white finger

London firm Thompsons has benefited the most from this payout, netting a cool £25.5m since January 1998. The total amount of £118m was revealed in the Commons on 26 July. Other firms with a share of the total figure include Hugh James, Browell Smith & Co and Raleys.
