South-east firm Thomas Eggar Church Adams has merged with specialist pensions trusteeship practice David Herbert & Co.
Hampshire-based practice David Herbert & Co is led by David Herbert, a practising solicitor who has specialised in the trusteeship of pension funds for more than 27 years.
He is trustee of 16 occupational pension schemes and chairman of 10 of those.
He says: "With the growth of my practice I have been looking to merge with a partner who takes a similar approach to service and who is able to bring additional resources.
"Thomas Eggar Church Adams' emphasis on client care, and its existing personal appointments as professional trustees of pension schemes, makes the firm an ideal partner."
Thomas Eggar already has its own in-house trust company, Eggar Trustees, but its managing partner John Stapleton says: "We already have a respected trust practice and experience as pensions trustees. This merger will enable us to extend this area of work.
"This is an area of law which is not fully regulated and we believe that the marketplace welcomes regulated and experienced practitioners."
