Thomas Eggar has hired CMS Cameron McKenna business development chief Adam Seymour as the firm continues to explore the option of a merger in London.
Seymour, who has been at Camerons for five years, joins Thomas Eggar as business development head and will oversee the firm’s drive for new business in its growth sectors of retail, manufacturing, sport and media, hotels and leisure, and technology.
Marketing and business development director Patricia Coie said: “Adam’s someone whose experience and attitude are exactly what we need right now to take our business-winning activity to a new level of success.
“He brings with him a wealth of experience and specialist knowledge in the key sectors in which we operate.”
While the firm is still looking at the possibility of a merger in London, it is also in the process of recruiting lawyers for its growing City base.

Eggars are to be applauded for hiring a BD manager but for a merger opportunity in London? Surely not. Given the way quality provincial clients are rebelling at London prices and how the local public sector is opening up it s panels to 'local' firms what new innovative model can a newly merged firm offer and to whom?
