Thierry Henry turns to Mishcon for divorce

Mishcon de Reya has been appointed to handle the divorce of former Arsenal star Thierry Henry in what could be the biggest divorce payout by a footballer, with Henry’s fortune estimated at £25m.

Mishcon partner and head of the family group Sandra Davis will be working on the case with assistant Ruth Abrams. Davis has worked on similar cases representing Jerry Hall and Tamara Mellon of Jimmy Choo fame.

Mishcon represented Princess Diana in her divorce with Prince Charles and is currently acting for Heather Mills in her split from former Beatle Paul McCartney.

The case is similar to fellow Arsenal old boy Ray Parlour, whose former wife Karen was awarded one third of Parlour’s future earnings over four years as well as two houses and a £250,000 lump sum after a ruling by the Court of Appeal in 2004. Karen Parlour was advised by Clintons.

Payne Hicks Beach is understood to be advising Henry’s wife Claire Merry. The firm declined to comment.
