What was your first-ever job? Articled clerk.
What was your worst experience as a trainee? Serving a Notice to Quit on a prostitute who was completely naked and lying on a bed.
Where's the best place to go if you want to find out what's really going in the office? The facilities team in each office.
What time do you usually leave the office? Around 7.30pm.
What do you do at weekends? Watch Southampton Football Club.
What's your favourite restaurant? The White Star on Oxford Street in Southampton.
If you weren't a lawyer, what would you have been? A retailer.
Who's your mentor or role model? The chief executive of a major DIY company.
What's the best thing about your job? Being in a position where I'm able to change the way things are done.
What's the toughest thing about your job? Trying to get buy-in to change.
What was your biggest work/career mistake and what did you learn from it? Thinking that I was capable of being a property lawyer. I eventually learnt that there's only so much detail I can cope with.
What car do you drive? Honda S2000.
What book are you currently reading? When I'm relaxing in the hot tub I'll read any crime novel; when I can concentrate it's Hilary Clinton's autobiography Living History.
What's on your CD player at the moment? Ray Charles.
What's your favourite children's book? I'm too old to remember what I enjoyed as a kid, but Dr Seuss's The Cat in the Hat is still a hit with the grandchildren.
