What was your first-ever job? A bread butterer in a sandwich factory at the age of 10 - a clear violation of the Factory Acts Legislation.
What was your worst experience as a trainee? Disclosing a dismally negative counsel's opinion to the other side in a list of documents.
Where's the best place to go if you want to find out what's really going on in the office? I have yet to find out and no one will tell me.
What time do you usually leave the office? In body, when it is dark; in spirit, never.
What do you do at weekends? Family and golf.
What's your favourite restaurant? The New Dynasty in Hampshire.
If you weren't a lawyer, what would you have been? A professional golfer, and failing that a pilot.
Who was your mentor or role model? Bugs Bunny - that guy knows how to enjoy life.
What's the best thing about your job? Being thought of as someone who can help.
What's the toughest thing about your job? That you can't please all of the people all of the time.
What's your biggest work/career mistake and what did you learn from it? Failing to serve the police with a notice of an application for a bookmaker's permit, with the result that the bookmaker couldn't open for another three months. I learnt to be more careful in the future.
What car do you drive? BMW X5.
What book are you reading? Bob McCabe's Authorised Biography of Ronnie Barker.
