Tulkinghorn has often been described as dapper, even wearing nothing but a smoking jacket and a smile. But solicitors and barristers alike have been taking style to new levels.
Tulkinghorn has learnt that the lawyers at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and the barristers of 39 Essex Street have made it into Maxim’s list of the top 10 best-dressed businessmen.
Freshfields came in at number three, while 39 Essex Street crashed into the top 10 at number eight, with senior barrister Stuart Catchpole QC being singled out for particular praise. The esteemed middle-shelf men’s magazine writes: “Trademark waistcoats and chalk stripes are a feature, with silks such as Stuart Catchpole QC picking handmade, two-piece, single-breasted suits.”
Tulkinghorn congratulates Stuart, but is also wondering whether he made a special effort for the Maxim journalist and actually dons Primark tracksuit bottoms when no one’s looking.
