The South West legal market may be smaller than the City’s, but in its own way it is equally frenetic.
In January Bristol-based Bond Pearce toasted the arrival of the London chief operating officer of New York-based White & Case Chris Schulten, who joined the South West firm as its new finance director.
In February the firm’s previous finance director Peter Macklin was hired to head the finance and IT teams at West Country firm Foot Anstey, and Bond Pearce was back in the news in March when it announced it was to cull up to 25 personal injury (PI) lawyers following the end of PI relationships with the Transport and General Workers’ Union and Royal Mail.
