The silk with loads of lolly

The news that one criminal silk - Jim Sturman QC of 2 Bedford Row - was paid the grand sum of £1.2m in legal aid fees last year caused quite a ruckus in the press. But Tulkinghorn can exclusively reveal the real Sturman, a man far removed from the bewigged and serious barrister who was splashed all over the nationals.

Sturman spends several mornings a month acting as the lollipop man for his children's school, seeing the young 'uns safely across the road - and naturally on a purely pro bono basis. The wig and robes come off and the fluorescent jacket goes on. Much more fetching.
