The Lawyer's highest ever circulation

THE LAWYER is boosting its circulation again. For the first time in its history, the legal profession's only independent weekly newspaper will be sent to about 10,000 partners in firms with 10 or more partners.

The move brings The Lawyer's circulation to 31,000. This includes 13,000 assistant solicitors with zero to six years PQE, 8,000 in-house lawyers who were added at the start of the year, plus the new partners.

The entire controlled circulation of The Lawyer will be 100 per cent requested by May.

Sean Brierley, editor of The Lawyer, says the decision to circulate the newspaper to partners is long overdue: "For years partners pinched copies of The Lawyer from associates and assistants - now they can have their own copy," he says.

"The increase in circulation reflects The Lawyer's position as the biggest independent newspaper for the legal profession, free from the control of the Law Society and recruitment advertisers."
