This year, The Lawyer’s annual ranking of the largest UK law firms by turnover is available as an interactive, digital benchmarking tool. For the first time this will allow you to manipulate each data set against the metrics of your choice.
The legal market’s most-talented and influential non-lawyer professionals will be celebrated later this year at the inaugural The Lawyer Management awards.
More than 20 awards reflecting team and individual excellence in the key operational departments such as finance, technology, HR and business development will be up for grabs on Tuesday 24 September.
The new event will include categories from The Lawyer’s long-running HR and Diversity awards, which has now been folded into The Lawyer Management awards. New awards include Best Technology Project, Best Marketing and Communications Team and Law Firm Management Team of the Year. The Lawyer will formally announce the call for entry for this year’s awards over the next few weeks.
The awards themselves will cap a new one-day conference focused on the most topical issues and challenges facing law firms, barristers chambers and the senior support professionals within them. The content will be delivered over six sessions throughout the day, bookended by an opening and closing plenary. The event will also include exclusive roundtable sessions focusing on a particular department’s role.
The Lawyer Management awards is an extension of an increased editorial focus on the support side of the legal market at The Lawyer over the past year, a shift designed to reflect the increasingly pivotal role played by non lawyers.
That focus includes a weekly interview with a senior support professional and a fortnightly The Lawyer Management email featuring latest news, vendor news and relevant opinion articles from prominent industry leaders.
In June a major new supplement titled The Lawyer Management will be published, further underlining the role played by the core support disciplines underpinning the modern law firm.
