Born in London in 1963, Moni Mannings was called to the Bar in 1984 and requalified as a solicitor in 1988. She is a senior assistant in the banking and capital markets department at Simmons & Simmons.
What was your first job?
Manning the school secretary's phone during lunchtime, two days a week, aged 10.

Anything that paid me to read 20th century literature, particularly non-fiction.

While a pupil barrister, calling the magistrate "your lordship" throughout the course of the 20-minute hearing.

Nothing much, but Floyd on Italy is very entertaining.

Pink silk shirt for the office; black stretch jeans off-duty.

Keep your sense of humour and sense of perspective.
