Duncan Walls was born in Victoria, Australia in 1943 and currently lives in Guildford, Surrey. He was the managing partner of Allens Arthur Robinson's London office, which closed this summer. He now works as a consultant.
What was your first job?
General hand in a building supplies yard, but I was sacked for dropping a hammer on the boss's foot.
What was your first ever salary as a lawyer?
£1 17 6. Years later I discovered the going rate was much higher.
What would you have done if you hadn't become a lawyer?
A spin doctor to ensure my talents weren't wasted completely.

Every law that spoonfeeds society.
