In January The Lawyer is launching the first-ever HR awards in the legal profession in order to celebrate excellence in the effective deployment of HR strategy in the legal world – an issue underpinning some of the biggest stories of 2006.
Following a call for entries this autumn, The Lawyer had a fantastic response from across the profession. The categories are varied, covering the full range of HR activity, from trainee recruitment to effective retention.
There were weeks of sifting through the submissions, culminating in a judging day earlier this month. Judges included Bruce Robertson, HR director of ITV Productions; Google HR business partner Kim Nguyen; Dee-Dee Doke, editor of The Recruiter; Debbie O’Donovan, editorial director of Employee Benefits; and Catrin Griffiths, editor of The Lawyer.
