  I would recommend very highly Dominic Bacon as in-house lawyer of the year. I have worked with him since 1994 and think he is an excellent lawyer.

  At the risk of starting some kind of bandwagon (!), I guess I would agree with the comment about Dominic. I am not particularly familiar with the other candidates, but I have worked with Dominic both when at Gulf International Band and now at CMC, and have always found him to be refreshingly straightforward and to the point. As an inhouse lawyer, I think he steers the perfect line between getting the law right and taking the wider commercial/legal view. A perfect consiglierie for the Board, I would imagine.

  I have worked with Dominic Bacon on a number of key deals over 2007-9 and the level of informed opinion and key initiatives that he utilised has aided key commercial deals to come to fruition. His insight is invaluable in today's challenging economic climate

  I have known and worked with the legend that is Martin Hirst for many years. There is no competition for this award, surely? Better to have the full breakfast than simply the rashers from the sandwich.

  Whilst I have worked with both Dominic and Martin, I appear to be the only 1! I have to say that I found Martin's off the wall sense of humour more encapsulating. What Martin manages to combine is black letter law with charisma, charm and wit.
  
  Martin has managed to keep a smile in otherwise inclement economic times and has been a rock. He is totally dependable and never looks for excuses. He is a consummate professional with an even larger appetite for life.
  
  I hope he wins as he deserves the recogntion.

  As Hungarian legal counsel for a local company, I always appreciate Dominic's no nonsense, honest approach to life as well as business. He's steered me through some tough times in the past 2 years and as far as I'm concerned, he's my beacon, or should I say, Bacon? He kicks ass over Martin Hirst, even though I've never heard of this man (I can only assume he's another lawyer in the contest). Seriously Dominic, CMC needs you to win this contest, as much as the UK needs Jade.

  I met Steve Mackie at a Tour de France themed stag in Leeds. On that basis alone he has my vote.
  The Cadbury's in house team are also a fantastic group of talented legal brains combined with impeccable tastebuds. A powerful combination.

  Steven Mackie is a prince amongst men. He has the patience of a saint and a knowledge of his area of specialism which is unparalleled. Addleshaws should be greatful they have someone so down to earth within their team. Everytime I have instructed him he has delivered, often beyond the call of duty

  Cadbury (please note there is no s) are a team of limitless talent and boundless energy and enthusiasm - not all down to the obvious staff perks. The only negative is the support by some members of dubious football teams (are Sheffield Wednesday a real football team?). However compared to others in their group they are the stand out team
