I'm assuming when Schillings sent their bid for Private Client of the Year firm, that private client was not Nicola Horlick, Simon Bowman, John Terry or Tiger Woods?

It is disappointing that Yvonne Hossack is overlooked once again. There are, I believe, 60,000 solicitors in the UK but only one has come forward to support the 500,000 vulnerable residents of Sheltered Housing and above that she dedicates herself to the defence of residents in Care Homes too . The Daily Telegraph published her as one of the top 10 people of 2009. There were, to my knowledge, no other solicitors on that list !
I suppose it says it all when the Royal Bank of Scotland appears on the list for Financial Services of the year !

Okay, the great legal minds of our generation who were nominated. If you want Yvonne Hassock there nominate her and the panel will review her achievements.
This is a great set of awards because people are put forward by their peers and then judged by the highest levels of the profession.
A jounalist, even from the Telegraph, will not apply that level of scrutiny so I don't think Yvonne Hossack would necessarily have been thecwinner of solicitor of the year (had anyone felt strongly enough that she was).

Really? Are you sure of your facts? I've seen people helping Shelter. Indeed many of them get involved to help raise funding or give pro bono advice".
I'm sure this lady has done a lot but if personal self sacrifice was the only criteria, Clive Stafford Smith would win each year.
