The kindness of Kent

Lawyers are rarely the first with the good news. But the petunias bloomed on the Garden of England this week after the legal team at Kent County Council (KCC) made the authority £3.7m.

The team’s record profit is more than just a heart-warming Friday story – for those of you who live in Kent, this extra cash will be spent on front-line services such as roads, social care, schools and libraries. Heck, it’s even enough to buy eight Boris Johnsons.

If that’s put you off your bacon butty, here’s another Friday feeler – for any IP lawyers in London, US-based IP giant Finnegan is moving its Brussels office to the City, and is on the lookout for some new staff.

Don’t say we don’t try.
