The Association of Solicitors in Investment Management (Asim) is to hold an election for a new chair following the decision of Cripps Harries Hall partner David Lough to stand down after three years in the position.
Heather Martin, secretary to the association, said of the departure : “Everyone’s very sad that he’s going. For the past year, he has wanted newer people to get more active in the association.” She said Lough had spent four years working for Asim, including one of these setting up the association and attracting firms to join.
Asim has asked members for nominations for the elections, which will be held at the AGM in June. So far, Anthony Wands of Thesis has put himself forward as chair but will have to be formally nominated. The current vice-chair Nicholas Grazebrook is offering himself for re-election. Andrew Curtis is standing for re-election to the post of treasurer. The retirement of Wands as a director means that another director has to be elected.
Asim has asked those who wish to be considered for the above positions to write an article for Asim’s May newsletter, presenting their vision for its future development.
