  • Most shocking canapes of the year: Denton Wilde Sapte's mini-cauliflower cheeses.

  • Rows of the year: Lovells v Freshfields over ITV; Andrew Hoyle v Watson Burton; Simmons v SJ Berwin on who is the greenest of them all.

  • The making-policy-on-the-hoof prize: Freshfields' Guy Morton telling his partners through the pages of The Lawyer that he wanted a US merger.

  • The ready-for-your-close-up Mr DeMille moment: Linklaters' senior partner candidates and their election videos.

  • The I-wish-I-had-that-job award: Qinetiq legal chief Lynton Boardman and his £2m windfall.
