Texaco promotes lawyer on to board of directors

TEXACO'S legal department chief David Codd has been appointed to the company's board of directors.

Codd, who leads a team of six lawyers, was taken on as chief legal adviser four years ago.

He also serves as company secretary.

Codd qualified with City firm Lovell White Durrant but he has held previous in-house positions in the oil industry with Britoil and Burmah Oil Exploration.

He was the senior legal adviser at Conco UK before taking up the Texaco post.

Texaco chair Glenn Tilton says the appointment is an acknowledgement of Codd's contribution and brings an experienced voice to the board.

"His incisive legal analysis and solid understanding of the oil industry, and its position in law, give him an invaluable role in Texaco," he says.
