Terry returns to client work at Freshfields

Ian Terry is stepping down as managing partner of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer after over five years.

Terry will return to the firm's litigation department in the autumn.
"I have spent five and a half years out of line and I think it is right for me to get back to client work," he said.
It is not known who will take over from Terry. There may be a management reshuffle which will leave the position of managing partner defunct.
