LEADING telecommunications lawyer Ted Mercer is leaving Allison & Humphreys to head a team at Taylor Joynson Garrett.
Mercer has been a partner in the telecommunications and broadcasting department at Allison & Humphreys since 1990. He specialises in the regulatory field, interconnect procurement agreements and the cable industry.
However, discussions are still under way as to when Mercer will leave Allison & Humphreys.
His notice officially expires in October 1996 but Richard Marsh, managing partner at TJG, said he hoped Mercer would join the firm soon.
Mercer's present team is staying at its firm.
Tony Ballard, Allison & Humphreys' telecommunications and entertainment partner, said: "We are sorry to see Ted go but are glad to keep his team. We will continue to build up our telecommunications business."
