Reed Smith finance partner Phillip Slater has won the firm a new client by securing the mandate on TelecityGroup’s £200m refinancing.
Slater, who moved from Addleshaw Goddard to head the US firm’s London general finance department in November last year, had a longstanding relationship with the premium data centre provider.
He was supported by a multijurisdictional team for Telecity featuring London acquisition finance partner Lucy Newcomb, Munich managing partner Stefan Kugler and Paris commercial A DLA Piper team led by leveraged finance partner Peter Crighton advised joint arrangers Barclays, HSBC, Lloyds Banking Group and RBS.

Speaking about the transaction’s financing, he added: “Obviously it’s good to get this away with four banks. They did well to get all four to be joint arrangers.”
