Teare becomes fourth new High Court judge this year

Quadrant Chambers’ head Nigel Teare QC is to become the newest High Court judge, the Department for Constitutional Affairs (DCA) announced yesterday (31 July).

Teare’s appointment follows the recent announcement that Mr Justice Leveson has been promoted to the Court of Appeal after the retirement of Lord Justice Brooke.

He is the fourth High Court judge to be appointed this year, following Serle Court Chambers’ Michael Briggs QC, Fountain Court Chambers’ Nicholas Underhill QC and Doughty Street Chambers’ Stephen Irwin QC to the Bench.

Quadrant Chambers will elect its new head of chambers in September, after the court summer vacation.
