This year, The Lawyer’s annual ranking of the largest UK law firms by turnover is available as an interactive, digital benchmarking tool. For the first time this will allow you to manipulate each data set against the metrics of your choice.
Menzies explained: "In reinsurance you often have two institutional clients going against each other - a reinsured against a reinsurer - and it is very difficult to navigate through the conflict issues."
Taylor Wessing's insurance team is headed by partner James Crabtree (pictured) and has roughly 20 lawyers throughout the firm's global network.
Menzies added: "I think it is a growing practice at Taylor Wessing - but nevertheless a practice where reinsurance forms a smaller part of the practice. If I get an instruction I can take it."
Menzies is dual qualified in England and Wales and as an attorney-at-law in the Cayman Islands. He specialises particularly in advising on litigation and arbitration for insureds, insurers and resinsurers in the UK, Bermuda and the Cayman Islands.
Taylor Wessing recently opened an office in Beijing and is looking to expand its Middle East practice heavily.
The firm is also currently involved in a New York legal battle with US firm Nixon Peabody after merger discussions between the firm and Taylor Wessing's Paris office fell apart (as reported The Lawyer 11 August.
