Taylor Wessing's longstanding UK senior partner Richard Marsh is to stand down after seven years in the role. Marsh will return to full-time fee-earning as head of the firm's commercial disputes and insolvency group.
The current head of the UK leveraged private equity and international private capital groups Martin Winter will take over as senior partner on 1 September. Winter, who joined Taylor Wessing four years ago from Pinsent Curtis, said he was looking forward to working directly with managing partner Michael Frawley. "Michael was the first person I made contact with in a professional capacity at the firm, so I know we'll work well together," he added.
Winter said an election for the position had been held but would not comment on the other candidates, except to confirm that Marsh had not stood. He added that the search for the new heads of his current groups had begun.
