Taylor Wessing has raided the Paris office of Jones Day for a real estate finance lawyer to head its French finance practice.
Former Jones Day senior associate Antonia Raccat joined Taylor Wessing as a partner last Monday (26 March), becoming the firm’s nineteenth in Paris.
She is best known for real estate financing and, while at Jones Day, handled a series of property-related deals for clients including General Electric. Raccat also worked with Taylor Wessing’s French real estate head François Verdot, who was with Jones Day until 2005 and is thought to have been instrumental in her move.
Taylor Wessing’s UK head of finance, Rodney Dukes, said the firm had not had a French equivalent until now.
“The immediate emphasis of the practice will be real estate,” added Dukes, “but this will expand into other areas, such as projects, as we look to emulate in Paris what we have in the UK finance group.”
