  • I don't think £7,500 is enough to give trainees who would've otherwise been on more than £30,000. I have been deferred and given a rubbish payout which doesn't even cover my months rent in Islington! How am I supposed to buy any clothes, go out and maintain the lifestyle I'm used to and would have been able to carry on with if I had been able to start work when I was supposed to.
I don't want to spend the rest of the year working in a low-rate position as a paralegal or PA or something like that. I'm fed-up with this recession!!!!!!!

  • To Anon who posted at 10.45am, care to explain why someone who is a paralegal is in a low-rate position as you put it? You will actually find a lot of paralegals have far more knowledge than a trainee in the department they work and can run rings around them. Think about that when you actually do start your training contract. And so sorry to hear that you can't possibly maintain the lifestyle you have become used to, my heart bleeds for you...nevermind you can always take up a low rate position to earn some money to shop in oxfam.
