Taylor Wessing benefits as another Hammonds partner quits

Taylor Wessing has beefed up its corporate practice with the hire of Hammonds partner Tom Cartwright.

Cartwright has particular sector expertise in financial services and leisure and hospitality, areas of focus for his new firm.

His recent track record includes advising Compass Group on the acquisition of Keith Prowse, Marriott International on its European hotel programme and Abbey on the sale of its factoring, block discounting and invoice discounting divisions.

Head of corporate at Taylor Wessing David Roberts said Cartwright was a specialist in a number of areas on which his group was focusing, including private equity, securities and the leisure sector.

“Tom’s arrival will help us build up our strengths in these areas,” added Roberts.

Cartwright, a partner at Hammonds since 2004, is expected to join Taylor Wessing in February.
