UK COMMERCIAL firm Taylor Joynson Garrett has appointed Middle East specialist Sabah Mahmoud as a consultant.
Prior to his appointment Mahmoud, an executive committee member of the British Middle East Law Council, was working from an office based at Nabarro Nathanson.
His association with the firm continues in Dubai, where he operates an office in partnership with a group of practices including Nabarros.
Mahmoud's appointment strengthens TJG's international practice, which already includes offices in Brussels and Bucharest and affiliations with firms in the US, Hong Kong and Germany.
Mahmoud, who is working from London, Dubai and an additional office in Abu Dhabi, advises on Middle East property development and investment within the UK, as well as handling business transactions, corporate affairs and tax planning in the region.
"The Middle East is a very important area because it's an oil producing and exporting region," says Mahmoud.
"There is substantial business relations between the Middle East and the UK and Europe as a whole."
Mahmoud adds: "I believe Middle East-related business will continue to expand and therefore there will continue to be a need for legal consultants and advisers."
