BARRISTER John Taylor is to present a four-part BBC1 series on consumer law next March.
The programme, called John Taylor's Casebook, will examine the law and the rights of the consumer, using case studies and illustrations.
"Legal aid is becoming more difficult to obtain and yet people are more aware of their rights, just as the queues for voluntary organisations such as the Citizens' Advice Bureaux are becoming longer," says Taylor, the unsuccessful Tory candidate for Cheltenham in the last general election.
"The aim of this series is to help people keep track of the law and offer user-friendly advice on the options available."
Taylor practiced for 15 years at the Bar in commercial, criminal, family and consumer law. For two years, he was special adviser to Home Office ministers, briefing them on issues such as crime prevention, criminal justice, charities, family and women's issues.
He stopped practising as a barrister at 9 Gough Square in December last year to work full-time in the media.
