Tarlos starts new year with management rejig

Following a shake-up of its management team, Tarlo Lyons has appointed two new managing partners, with current managing partner Nigel McEwan to take on the role of chairman

Employment partner Warren Foot and corporate partner Kevin Barrow will take over as co-heads of the firm in the spring, following a decision taken by the firm at the beginning of December.
The firm brought in consultants to review the management structure after McEwan, who was managing partner for 11 years, announced his intention to step down.
Barrow will concentrate on external strategy, while Foot will concentrate on internal operational issues. Both partners will also continue in a fee-earning role.
As well as the two co-managing partners, Tarlo Lyons is also appointing property partner Philip Diamond as the partner in charge of finance. These three, plus McEwan, will make up the firm's management team.
McEwan said: “We decided that after having had the same internal structures for a long time, we'd adopt a more corporate outlook enabling partners in senior management to play to their strengths.”
